Positive Reflection

If I touch a needle by tip of my finger it will bleed and i will feel the pain. My brain makes the connection almost simultaneously. There’s little need for reflection because the “needle=pain and blood” connection is one that my mind makes almost immediately.

Similarly, Reflecting back at every experience we learn, either for our mistakes or from our achievement. Because life is a learning process and we all are lifelong learners.

Reflection is a process of exploring and examining ourselves, our perspectives, experiences and actions. It helps us gain insight and see how to move forward.

Personal reflection is an opportunity to reconsider events, thoughts and feelings from a fresh perspective. And go back in time to know where we did great and where we lacked.

Amal Academy always makes us come out of our comfort zone and make us asks us to face the challenges and accept failure because everything is part of learning experience. When the fellowship started i was shy and not so confident to talk to fellows. But I experienced in my 2nd week that i was changing little by little during fellowship. The interactions and coordination with fellows in circles helped me to overcome my shyness. I most hard yet exciting part for me was fundraising for Edhi Foundation because i felt drastic change in my personality when i kept my ego aside and step out to my comfort zone and asked every possible network i could reach for donations.

I joined Amal Academy because i had issues with public speaking as i wrote i lacked confidence. Mam Aleena and Mam Naqsh my facilitators played the most significant role to speak up. They used to cold call during weekend sessions where i had to talk no matter what, that one gesture helped me to improve and later on by the fellowship i started participating more. I also realized at that time that it’s not a difficult thing to talk in front of people, no one is going to judge me on my point of view because everyone has a different one, we all are not same.

The difficult hard from the fellowship was the mock interview because it was with Amal Team which built a lot pressure on me. But my circle fellows especially Mahnoor , Iqra and Nimra helped me to stay calm as we practice the QBQs and other interview questions. Also the feedback of my facilitators was on my priority which eventually helped me to do good during interview and i receive positive feedback from interviewers.

Reflection is so important. Although it’s a cumbersome and time-consuming practice but we should always remember that life is one long series of unexpected and those unexpected leads us to a new and fresh start if we keep on reflecting back.
